Ahmed Alnaouq is a Palestinian journalist from Gaza currently living in London. He has a degree in English Literature and a Master’s Degree in International Journalism. He co-founded We Are Not Numbers, a youth-led project in Gaza telling the personal stories of Palestinians and advocating for their rights. He also co-founded Across the Wall, which tells Palestinian stories in Hebrew.
Ahmed Al-naouq worked as an advocate and outreach officer for the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, is a host on the YouTube channel Palestine Deep Dive, which gives an important platform to people from Palestine and people who have visited or advocate for Palestine. He has written for many media publications – The Washington Post, The New Arab and Arab News, as well as having done many interviews on television, and has written an essay in the volume ‘Deluge’ which looks at events around 7th October.
Ahmed was in Gaza during the last three major Israeli assaults on the Strip. In the third – Protective Edge – he lost a brother and six friends in an Israeli airstrike. He was there for the March of Return when 100 Israeli snipers fired on thousands of peaceful demonstrators. He lost his father and five siblings along with 14 nieces and nephews in another Israeli airstrike on the 22nd Oct last year.
